EMAP Residencies 2027
Co-funded by the European Union's Creative Europe programme, the European Media Art Platform continues its residency programme for artists, artist duos, collectives, and other artistic collaborations working across digital, media, robotic, and bio art.

Stiftung Niedersachsen Media Art Grants 2026
The Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg will award three Media Art Grants of the Stiftung Niedersachsen (€12,500 each).The Stiftung Niedersachsen grant at the Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg supports a wide spectrum of media art, from video art and net-based projects to audio works and audiovisual installations. Each of the three grants will be awarded for the production of a new project in the area of media art. An international jury will convene to select the grant recipients.

Nine artists are chosen to participate in the project. Selection will be multidisciplinary and represent different sections of the E75 Art Bus route. Aim is also to find works that can engage people in communities either locally or through digital means. Preference is given to proposals that engage in new forms of visual art that are at the core of MUU activities: media art, light art, sound art, performance art, live art, community art, environmental art etc.

Harold Cohen: AARON – Whitney Museum of American Art
This exhibition traces the evolution of Harold Cohen’s AARON, the earliest artificial intelligence (AI) program for artmaking. Leaving behind his practice as an established painter in London, Cohen (1928–2016) conceived the software in the late 1960s at the University of California, San Diego, and named it AARON in the early 1970s.

What does it take to change? Creativity, catalysts, craving, community, control? The letter "c" seems to incorporate many or most parameters for technical, social, and artistic development, no other letter could have provided a better thematic structure for the festival's multiple ways of finding answers or asking new questions about change.
Addio a Pierre Restany, lo spirito libero della critica
Restany non si occupava di arte tecnologica ma non era affatto estraneo alle tematiche di Noema. Pi? in generale, pu? essere considerato un esempio nel panorama dell'arte contemporanea. Viaggiatore infaticabile, frequentatore e spesso amico dei pi? grandi artisti e creativi fin dai loro esordi, era una persona lucida e aperta che nei fenomeni culturali, anche i meno appariscenti, sapeva riconoscere gli elementi innovativi, cogliere i risvolti, anticipare le ricadute.
