How does technology inform, shape, mediate and constrain our conceptions and practices of performance? This issue begins with an expanded understanding of ‘technology’. Not only specific technologies (notation, the oboe, recording, the internet, VR), but also wider technological discourses of practical, environment, and conceptual thought-space (heliocentrism, the steam engine, computation and our common extended reality).

Creative robotics and robotics in art
The event will be oriented to creative robotics and robotics in art. The aim of the project is to produce comics, that were created through collaboration of a human and a robot. To arrive to this aim, the installation uses robots, AI and audience participation.

Piksel is an international festival for electronic art and technological freedom. On April 6, 2021, Gene Youngblood has died. I had the honour to edit with Simonetta Fadda the Italian edition of his seminal essay Expanded Cinema in a book series coproduced by Noema. Post-polyploidy subgenome evolution of glitch art

The author explored this question by subjecting a glitch artwork to processes analogous to those shaping the evolution of the maize genome; that are whole genome duplication (WGD), subgenome bias fractionation and genome dominance, respectively.
