[ITA] Cari Elena e Pier Luigi, vi scrivo questa mail a qualche settimana dal rientro, vi ringrazio infinitamente per essere stati dei preziosi compagni di questa mia prima volta al Festival Ars Electronica.
[ENG] Dear Elena and Pier Luigi, I am writing you this email a few weeks after my return, thanking you so much for being such valuable companions in this my first time at the Ars Electronica Festival.
The Prix Ars Electronica is the world’s most time-honored media arts competition. Winners are awarded the coveted Golden Nica statuette, prize money ranging up to € 10,000 per category and an opportunity to showcase their talents at the famed Ars Electronica Festival in Linz.
Innovation at the Nexus of Science, Technology, and the ARTS: STARTS is an initiative of the European Commission to foster alliances of technology and artistic practice that effectively implement European policymaking to nurture innovation and that benefit the art world as well. The focus is on people and projects that contribute to mastering the social, ecological and economic challenges this continent faces.
The Leonardo Slam is an event for cross contamination of ideas, a short open public gathering based on the format of poetry slam, but more free-form: an individual or group may present work, words, stories, video, sound, ideas about work, work about ideas, work about work, ideas about ideas, work about nothing, ideas about music, music about performances, apples about oranges, oranges about history, history about histories, dance about architecture, et cetera.
The STARTS Prize is being awarded by the European Commission for the third consecutive year. It awards successful collaboration of science and technology with the arts.

[ENG] The digital revolution has reconfigured and decoded our world, it is absorbed between the wet and the organic material of the bits. Who are the alchemists of our time?
What does it take to change? Creativity, catalysts, craving, community, control? The letter "c" seems to incorporate many or most parameters for technical, social, and artistic development, no other letter could have provided a better thematic structure for the festival's multiple ways of finding answers or asking new questions about change.
[ITA] Che cosa ci vuole per cambiare? La mission di Ars Electronica di quest'anno è stata quella di trovare qualche risposta a una nuova fase di cambiamento.
[ENG] What it takes to change? The mission of Ars Electronica was to discover what leads change and to call for answers from different directions and disciplines.
[ITA] Alcuni dicono che la crisi che stiamo vivendo può essere vista come qualcosa di positivo, come un'opportunità per cambiare in meglio il mondo in cui viviamo, per produrre qualcosa di nuovo.
