Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI) is happy to announce the launch of it’s newly re-designed website.
Â
Besides a new look, the site now offers a range of new services for our members, and better navigation and visibility opportunities that we hope will bring increased exposure to the work of our members and projects from the art-sci-tech field.Â
Â
Here are some of the new features:
Â
– The ASCI ebulletin archive [members only] provides access to ebulletin issues from January 2002 to the current issue (with it’s unique collection of members’ images!). This is a perfect resource for practitioners, researchers, curators, professors/students, and organizations wishing to track trends and stay current with this rapidly changing multidisciplinary field. [We will be adding previous years back to 1990, as we have volunteers to help.]
Â
- In the Spotlight [on the homepage] features noteworthy art-sci projects from the field: exhibitions, forums, university programs, projects, and resources [like books].
Â
– Each month, the work of an ASCI member will be featured on the homepage [and this image+link remains visible during all searching of the website as part of the homepage template… thus maximizing exposure. The image on the homepage is linked to another page of text and images. The same selected members’ image will also appear in the ASCI ebulletin.Â
Â
– The ASCI online bulletin board. [members-only] We hope that members will use this service to communicate with other members, post questions, and exchange information. [But also, please send your info-blurbs for posting in the ASCI ebulletin at: bulletin@asci.org]
Â
-Â easy to fill out Membership Application Form.
Â
– Each member still receives a free link in our Members Homepages Listing and Members News are still going to be listed as always. Â
Â
more services and features are planned
Â
ASCI’s website receives a large number of visitors each day. The value of being featured on our homepage or even a link at the members’ homepage directory shouldn’t be underrated. [On the average, our site receives 16,500 vistors per month.] Please check on the members homepages to see if the link to your homepage is still current.  Â
Â
We re-designed the ASCI website almost totally with volunteer assistance. We remain committed to nurturing our art-sci community, but we need your support to maintain and grow our services.  Here’s what you can do to help: – ad a link to www.asci.org on your website, join ASCI, renew your membership today! and send us a brief note as a "testimonial" about how ASCI has helped you.
Â
Another important administrative improvement was the transition to an automated online renewal process. Though this part of our membership processing system will be automated, each member inquiry will still be replied to individually. We’ve always been dedicated to serving our membership in a very personal way.
And don’t worry, your privacy is still fully protected through the latest Internet technologies and by a very reliable and approved host.
Please note that our site is still a "work-in-progress." Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have suggestions or discover some "bugs" that need fixing… we need your feedback!Â
  Â
We welcome your advice and ideas on how the ASCI membership can become more actively involved with programming, and hope that we have begun to create a structure for this to happen at www.asci.org
Â
See you online!     Â
