Metaverse Creativity is a new peer-reviewed journal published by Intellect
(http://www.intellectbooks.co.uk/journals/view-Journal,id=179/).
Edited by Elif Ayiter at Sabanci University (ayiter@gmail.com), Metaverse Creativity investigates creativity in user-defined online virtual worlds such as Second Life®. These social environments differentiate themselves from online multi-user gaming communities in that they have no underlying social rules that are game-related: there are no scores to be gained, no levels to be attained. Given that they are intrinsically unstructured environments within which Residents undertake activities which are self-defined and self-instigated, it is unsurprising that the pursuit of creative activities seems to have become one of the prevalent reasons for residency in the metaverse.
Metaverse Creativity seeks contributions from creative practitioners and researchers of user-defined online virtual worlds who wish to increase the understanding and development of creativity in the metaverse. Essay topics include, but are not limited to:
– The creative output
– The Avata
– Education using online virtual world
– The social and technological infrastructure of the metaverse
